Stewardship of time, talent and treasure will build our faith in God.
The Tapestry of St. Mary's
We come together here in our parish because we recognize that we are part of something larger.
At the same time, we understand that the larger something that we are a part of may be as small as helping one family, delivering one meal, taking one person fishing, or giving one person a ride to Mass. The lesson
in this is that everybody matters. Your contributions allow us to weave our individual threads together to form the tapestry that is St. Mary's.
Josh Sanden speaking to school kids about stewardship.
We Have Been Entrusted
The story of creation says God looked upon what had been made and found it good; and seeing the world's goodness, God entrusted it to human beings. "The Lord God planted a garden" and placed
there human persons "to cultivate and care for it." - Genesis 2:8
Global Solidarity Fair
"Do all the good you can by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as you can."
- John Wesley
Youth Mission Trip 2015 to Arecibo, Puerto Rico
Be Joyful Witnesses
"You too, dear young people, can be joyful witnesses of his love, courageous witnesses of his Gospel, carrying to this world a ray of his light." - Pope Francis at World Youth Day 2013
Parish Nurse, Kathy Fischer, visiting the elderly.
Everything We Have Is God's
"Stewardship is caring for what belongs to God. It is rooted in recognition that everything we have is from God and everything we have is God's."
- Bernie F. Evans
Your talent is God's gift to you. What you do with it is your gift back to God.

Who We Are
To educate, foster and develop in our parishioners a sense of belonging, commitment, and involvement in our Christian community resulting in stewardship as a way of life.
The Stewardship Committee focuses on educating parishioners about stewardship as a way of life through its Annual Stewardship Renewal each fall. Other learning opportunities are offered to parishioners to encourage living as a disciple of Christ and sharing of time, talent and treasure.
Stewardship: Who is a Christian steward? One who receives God's gifts gratefully, cherishes and tends them in a responsible manner, shares them in justice and love with others, and returns them with increase to the Lord. (From Stewardship, A Disciple's response, USCCB Pastoral Letter on Stewardship)
In Attendance: Todd Wentworth, Ron Boyden, Laurie Bienias, Aaron Korynta, Heidi Hawkins, Josh Sanden, and Randy Meyer
Absent: Jim Boyle
Update on Year-Round Stewardship Calendar – Laurie Bienias
Starting in August of 2017 Father Steve will include a monthly overview on the Readings and Gospels in the bulletin and email blasts.
Late Fall we will revisit the new format.
Continue to look for ways to showcase the many ways our parish lives out stewardship.
Update on bulletin articles:
Aaron has researched Catholic sites for bulletin ideas.
Committee members will forward articles to Aaron to build up a database.
Joan would like to work ahead on the bulletin due to her vacation. Aaron will send two articles in on our next deadline, March 21st.
Heidi had a suggestion to hide a symbol/clue in the bulletin and have people go to our website to find out the answer.
Reschedule April Meeting:
Our regular scheduled time fell in Holy Week, so we changed it to Tuesday, April 4th at 5pm. We will meet in the small conference room.
Stewardship newsletter design/articles ideas
Kathy Ballou was working on changing the design format and looking for suggestions for articles.
Committee liked past design. However, we discussed if we could send out another newsletter during the year and spread out the articles. With so much information, the font size can become too small. To make it easier to read, maybe we should have less articles with a larger font.
Food Drive: Blue Bags and Catholic Schools Week food drive
Fausto Lopez & Karen Sladek step in to cover cook, Lynn Lesnau
Showcase long-standing parishioners such as Sylvia & Chuck Klimek. A look back over the years…
Long-range goal would like to see this become a quarterly newsletter.
Heidi Hawkins agreed to be the lead on this event.
Ron shared a timeline of past years to Heidi.
Committee is to look for new ideas to bring to the April meeting.
Todd reported the budget and what it covers
We will continue our subscription to the Stewardship bulletin insert.
